A Grape New Adventure

It’s time to step out of the ole comfort zone today. I did that by reaching for a color I’ve never used as a card base before – Gorgeous Grape! I have to admit, it was a bit intimidating at first, but wow, did it pay off. Let me take you through this grape-tastic journey!

The Base and Layers: I started with Gorgeous Grape as the sturdy base. For the first layer, I die cut a frame from the upcoming Winterly Tree Tops set (keep your eyes peeled for this one in the mini catalog coming out in September!). The soft hue of Fresh Freesia was perfect for creating a whimsical vibe.

The Sentiment Strip: I crafted a strip using Fresh Freesia, framed it with Basic White for a crisp contrast, and stamped “a million thanks” from the Sweetly Scripted stamp set in Gorgeous Grape. This combination really made the sentiment pop!

The Finishing Touches: To add a burst of cheer, I fussy cut a bright and beautiful Zinnia from the Flowering Zinnias Designer Series Paper (DSP). Surrounding it with three Purple Fine Shimmer Gems gave the card that extra sparkle and finished it off perfectly.

I’m thrilled to share that I’m entering this card into The Paper Players PP695 Sketch Challenge. 🤞 Wish me luck!

Crafting Tip of the Day: Don’t be afraid to experiment with colors you haven’t tried before. Sometimes stepping out of your comfort zone can lead to the most delightful surprises!
