Today’s card was pure joy to create—bursting with color, texture, and layers of sweet floral details. I decided to go with a slimline format, and the end result feels like a little garden party on paper!

The inspiration began with one particular sheet from the Floral Impressions Designer Series Paper. This stunning design features a cascade of blooms in a rainbow-like layout, transitioning beautifully from deep pinks through to rich blues. I knew right away it was calling for a coordinating explosion of cardstock flowers. And I’ve seen other people do this, so I wanted to create my own.

I pulled out the Impressions Abloom dies and ran them through my Mini Cut & Emboss Machine to create a collection of blossoms and flower centers in an array of hues—from pinks to yellows, oranges, and then blues. I love most about these dies is the added detail—cutouts and impressions that give the flowers extra dimension and charm.

The card base itself is Thick Basic White, cut to create a slimline shape. A strip of that gorgeous rainbow-inspired DSP was adhered across the top half of the card front. Using Misty Moonlight ink, I stamped the “I Appreciate You” sentiment from the Impressions Abloom stamp set onto the bottom right corner. It’s a simple message, but one that always feels heartfelt.

Arranging the flowers was where the fun really took off. I followed the rainbow flow of the DSP, placing the die-cut flowers across the card front from pinks to blues, pairing each one with a center in a coordinating but slightly varied color for depth. Some were adhered flat, while others were popped up on Dimensionals for extra lift and movement.

Inside the card, I added a panel of Basic White layered on Misty Moonlight cardstock for a polished, finished look. To complete the design, I added just a touch of sparkle using three of the Strawberry Slush & Pretty in Pink Gems.
I also created a video showing how this card was created, step by step, and have it linked below for you:
