A Versatile Card Layout for Quick & Easy Cards!

Sometimes, all it takes is a simple layout to create stunning, quick, and easy cards. Today, I’m sharing a fabulous layout that’s incredibly versatile and easily adjustable! Whether you want to add more layers or keep it beautifully simple, this design will be a go-to for your card-making sessions.

To demonstrate just how fun and flexible this layout is, I created a video tutorial showing the process step by step. Here’s a breakdown of how I put these cards together:

The Sentiment Layer

I started with a sentiment panel in Basic White cardstock. For the first card, I used the Sweetly Scripted stamp set and stamped “Happy Birthday” in Blueberry Bushel ink. This provided a crisp, bold focal point for the card front.

The Inside of the Card

Moving to the inside, I added a panel of Basic White and a strip of Wildflower Birthday Specialty DSP. Keeping the inside coordinated with the front makes a card feel complete. The possibilities are endless—more layers, additional stamping, or just a simple panel with a bit of DSP for a polished touch.

Building the Card Front

For the front, I used strips of DSP cut to 3/4″ x 3-3/4″, adjusting based on the sentiment piece. These strips can be made skinnier, longer, or shorter depending on the design. This flexibility allows you to customize the card to your liking while keeping the layout intact.

To add texture and dimension, I popped up an odd number of fun elements using Stampin’ Dimensionals. Adding depth to a card makes a big impact with minimal effort. Finally, embellishments—also in an odd number—give the perfect finishing touch!

The Four Cards I Created

I was so happy with this layout that I ended up making four different versions:

  1. Country Lace DSP – Paired with the Hearts & Hugs stamp set and coordinating dies on a Basic White base. Since the base is white, I extended the DSP strips for a balanced look.
  2. Cute As Can Bee DSP – Layered with Old Olive and Basic Black cardstock, using the Bee Builder Punch along with the Bee My Valentine stamp set. This one is full of charm and character!
  3. Nests of Winter DSP – Featuring Cherry Cobbler and Basic White cardstock with the sentiment stamped in Early Espresso ink for a warm, rustic feel.
  4. Wildflower Birthday Specialty DSP – The original inspiration, with a fresh and cheerful look perfect for birthdays!

Endless Possibilities

This layout is so adaptable that you can use it with any DSP, stamps, and embellishments you have on hand. Whether you keep it minimalistic or go all out with layers, it will turn out beautifully every time.

I’d love to see how you use this layout in your own card-making! Share your creations and let’s inspire each other.

I also have a quick video showing step-by-step how to put these together on my YouTube channel and linked here:
