Today, I decided to give my Beautiful Butterflies stamp set some much-needed attention, and I’m so glad I did! The result is a beautiful, easy-to-make card that combines vibrant coloring and a touch of elegance with minimal effort. If you’re looking for a card that packs a punch without taking hours to create, this one is for you.

I started with a panel of Basic White cardstock, which I stamped with the large butterfly from the Beautiful Butterflies set using Secret Sea ink. I positioned the butterfly slightly off the bottom right-hand corner, creating an organic look that flows out of the panel. To complement the butterfly, I stamped the “Hello” greeting from the same stamp set in the center of the panel, just above the butterfly’s wings, giving the card a warm and inviting message.

For the inside of the card, I used a panel of Basic White, stamping the two smaller butterflies in the same Secret Sea ink. One butterfly is positioned towards the bottom left, and the other on the right side, both slightly off the edges to maintain the whimsical feel. To finish the inside, I added a smattering of dots around the butterflies using Darling Duckling ink, giving it a little extra dimension and texture. I couldn’t leave the envelope out, so I stamped a butterfly on the envelope flap and added more dots for that perfect finishing touch. The “dots” were also added to the large butterfly panel.

Now, let’s talk about the fun part – coloring! I used my trusty Stampin’ Blends Alcohol Markers to color in the butterflies. For the front butterfly, I used Fresh Freesia and Lemon Lime Twist in both the light and dark markers. I started with the lighter Fresh Freesia color on the upper half of the butterfly and worked my way up coloring, then used the Lemon Lime Twist markers on the bottom half of the butterfly. I made sure both colors divided the butterfly symmetrically, keeping things quick and simple – and also with the darker shades of the markers, made sure the butterfly was colored in a symmetrical manner.

For the inside butterflies, I picked Azure Afternoon and Timid Tiger for one, and Old Olive and Berry Burst for the other. These combinations were so fun to work with, and they really made the butterflies pop! I finished the envelope with Fresh Freesia and Old Olive markers to tie everything together.

Once the coloring was done, I matted the front butterfly panel with Secret Sea cardstock and adhered it to the Cloud Cover card base. I added Dimensionals for a little lift and visual interest. The inside panel was also matted with Secret Sea cardstock and adhered inside the card. I CASEd this card from J. Baca, a fellow Stampin’ Up! demonstrator who is part of our Klompenstampers team. So glad she shared!
