Today’s card design is one of those projects that makes me smile every time I look at it! I had so much fun working with the Extraordinary Flora stamp set, one of the coordinating dies and Washi Tape, as well as the sentiment from Sweet Blooms. The creativity flowed as colors and textures were layered for a truly vibrant card that can easily be adapted with different color schemes and embellishments.

The card base starts with Thick Basic White, giving the design a crisp foundation. I added a Fresh Freesia panel, but to keep things interesting, I let a bit of the white base peek through at the top and bottom. The focal point of the card is a playful mix of colors from the Beautiful Bokeh Designer Series Paper. This patterned paper ties in beautifully with the other elements of the design, and it’s so fun to let it shine through.

The sentiment, “You Make Me Smile,” was stamped on a scrap of Basic White with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, and then the right side was trimmed at an angle to add a touch of interest. For a fun twist, I used the Washi Tape on Basic White cardstock, smoothing it out with a bone folder to ensure it laid flat. Then I die-cut it with the coordinating die to match the overall design. These Washi Tape die cuts are a total game-changer. They add such a unique element to the card, and I love how they seamlessly coordinate with the other stamped and die-cut pieces.

Next, I grabbed the smallest pentagon die from the Meant To Bee dies and cut out both Fresh Freesia and Basic White cardstock to create a layered effect. These pentagons were adhered toward the left side of the card front. To balance the composition, the sentiment piece overlapped the pentagon, extending to the right edge of the card.

To complete the design, the Washi Tape die cuts were adhered around the pentagon shape and sentiment. A mix of dimensionals and glue dots were used for added depth and interest. A simple double strand bow made with Baker’s Twine Essentials in Crumb Cake was the final touch, attached with a glue dot for just the right amount of flair.

I couldn’t resist creating a variation of this card with a Berry Burst, Calypso Coral, and Basic Black color combination. The change in colors gave the card a completely new feel! I also switched things up by stamping the Extraordinary Flora flowers to use with the Basic Black version instead of the washi tape. After stamping, the flowers and leaves were colored with Stampin’ Blends to give them rich depth and dimension.

What I love most about this design is how versatile it is. You can easily customize it with different colors, papers, and embellishments, and still create something truly stunning each time. And don’t even get me started on how easy it is to incorporate washi tape into designs—this was definitely a pleasant surprise! The coordinating washi tape and dies work together like magic and really elevate your crafting without adding a ton of extra steps.

To show you how I created these cards, I made a video and share all the variations. I hope you enjoy watching it as much as I enjoyed making these cards!
Whether you’re creating with fresh and soft tones like Fresh Freesia or choosing something bolder with Berry Burst and Calypso Coral, these cards are bound to brighten anyone’s day. Thanks for stopping by, and happy crafting!
