Today, I’m thrilled to share a vibrant and fun birthday card that features the gorgeous Azure Afternoon cardstock as the base. This card is perfect for anyone who loves a pop of color and playful design elements. Plus, I’m excited to announce that I’ll be entering this card in the Sketch Saturday challenge!
Materials Used:
- Cardstock: Azure Afternoon, Basic White, Crushed Curry
- Embossing Folder: Eyelet 3D Embossing Folder
- Dies: Spotlight on Nature Dies
- Stamp Set: Simply Said
- Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black Ink
- Embellishments: Something for Everything Ephemera Pack (birthday cake and balloons inside of card) and Labels & Layers Ephemera Pack (sentiment piece)
I started with a piece of Azure Afternoon cardstock and I love how this bright blue shade makes for a stunning and bold background. And the intricate eyelet pattern adds beautiful texture and dimension to the card.
The circles create a fun and dynamic focal point on the card. I love how the Crushed Curry pops against the Azure Afternoon background!
For the sentiment, I chose the “Happy Birthday” from the Simply Said stamp set stamped on a sentiment strip from the Labels & Layers Ephemera Pack. The crisp black ink against the sentiment strip gives it a clean and modern look.
To top off the card, the cute birthday cake from the Something for Everything Ephemera Pack was put front and center. It adds a playful touch and ties the whole birthday theme together perfectly.
I had a blast creating this card, and I hope it inspires you to play with colors and textures in your own crafting projects.
Measurements (in inches):
card base – 11 x 4-1/4
1st layer (embossed) – 3-3/4 x 5
scraps (Basic White and Crushed Curry) for die cut circles
inside card: Basic White 4 x 5-1/4
