Welcome to the blog! Today, I’m thrilled to share a card that I created for two online challenges: the (PIN)spirational Challenge #321 with the January theme of “Pink Winter Sky” and Make My Monday Challenge #242, where I revisited a favorite challenge from 2024 – #218 “Use Your Patterned Paper.”
This card was such a joy to make! It combines beautiful pink hues, crisp whites, and a pop of black, all inspired by a stunning winter sky with its ethereal pink tones. Let’s dive into the details!
How It Came Together:
The card base is Thick Basic White, cut and folded in a landscape orientation. Strips of the stunning coral-pink Butterfly Bokeh DSP (available in the Jan-Apr Mini Catalog) were layered horizontally on the card front, creating a soft and dreamy backdrop.
A mat of Basic Black cardstock frames a piece of Basic White, which was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink with the sentiment, “Time to Celebrate” from the Beautiful Butterflies stamp set (available in the Jan-Apr Mini Catalog). This focal piece was popped up with dimensionals for added depth.
A die-cut butterfly in Poppy Parade from the Beautiful Butterflies dies (available in the Jan-Apr Mini Catalog)adds a vibrant touch, with a black body adhered for contrast. This little beauty is perched on the focal point, secured with a mini dimensional.
To complete the card front, I added a few gold-ish colored low-profile dots (available in the Jan-Apr Mini Catalog) for a hint of shimmer without bulk.
The inside features a layered design: Basic White matted by Poppy Parade, which is then matted by Basic Black. This ties the interior seamlessly to the card front’s design.
Inspiration:
The (PIN)spirational Challenge’s “Pink Winter Sky” theme brought to mind the gorgeous pink and coral tones in the Butterfly Bokeh DSP. Its soft, dreamy pattern felt perfect to mimic a winter sunset or sunrise. Additionally, the Make My Monday challenge gave me the perfect excuse to highlight patterned paper in a clean and simple design.
