What a wonderful time we had during this week’s Paper Party Live! Thank you so much to everyone who joined me live, chatted along, or caught the replay afterward. These Thursday evenings are such a highlight in my week, and I’m always so grateful to create with you.

This time around, we explored a layout that I absolutely adore—it’s simple, smart, and stunning. It uses just three strips of Designer Series Paper (I used the gorgeous Nests of Winter DSP in the video), but the end result feels rich with texture and warmth. The torn edges give a soft, handmade look. Whether you’re crafting a sympathy card, a thinking-of-you design, or just want to send some gentle encouragement, this layout is a go-to.

The card for the video began with a Thick Basic White base and then I arranged the DSP strips in a cascading vertical design. The strips were popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals for added interest, but you could just as easily keep it flat with your favorite adhesive. After stamping the sentiment, a beautiful fern from the Beautiful Motifs dies was nestled in, adding a big loopy bow made with Linen Thread, and finishing it all off with a coordinating inside panel. It’s an easy process, but one that delivers big on impact.

During the live, I also shared two additional card ideas using the same layout but with completely different vibes. One card used the Mixed Media Florals DSP, paired with the Mixed Florals stamp set and coordinating dies, with a soft Mossy Meadow sentiment and colored floral elements.

The other card was rich and dramatic, made with Distressed Regals DSP, featuring gold foil touches and a Beautiful Motifs die cut accent piece in the deep jewel tone of Pretty Peacock. That version also had three adhered Pressed Flower Motifs embellishments (which are kind of metallic) and a sweet twine bow in Crumb Cake for just the right finishing touch.

I love how this layout adapts to whatever paper and occasion you want to use—it’s a layout you can truly make your own. If you missed the live or want to watch it again, you can catch the full replay below.
And because I know how helpful it is to have something at your fingertips while crafting, I’ve created a free downloadable PDF tutorial with all the cutting instructions, measurements, and supplies I used for the featured card.
I hope this layout inspires you to use what you have—those extra strips of DSP, those heartfelt sentiments, those little embellishments waiting for the perfect project. Give it a try and let me know what you create. I’d love to see your take on it.
