Today, I have an exciting project to share with you—a fun fold card using the beautiful Leaf Collection stamp set and the adorable Country Birdhouse Bundle from Stampin’ Up! This card is perfect for showcasing seamless color blending, fussy cutting, and a charming birdhouse scene.
Starting with Mossy Meadow cardstock for the base and the “mini” card. It’s like giving your card a surprise twist—literally!
Stamp the large Leaf Collection stamp using a variety of inks. Apply the lightest ink in the middle, graduating to the darkest on the edges. Blend the colors with a sponge dauber to eliminate any harsh lines. This creates a beautiful gradient effect. Let it dry.
Cut and adhere Berry Burst and Basic White cardstock inside the card. This adds a pop of color and provides space for your message. Fussy cut some of the stamped leaves to decorate the inside. It’s like giving your card a little extra flair!
Stamp the birdhouse from the Country Birdhouse Bundle onto a piece of Country Woods DSP. Color it in using Stampin’ Blends in Mossy Meadow and Berry Burst. These complementary colors, chosen from the color wheel on page 132 of the Stampin’ Up! catalog, really bring the scene to life.
Stamp and color the bird using Misty Moonlight for the tail, wings, and head, and Daffodil Delight for the belly. Die cut the bird with the coordinating die. Our bird is ready to make its debut!
Adhere the leaves to the sides of the card base. Next, adhere the “mini” card to the center. This is where the fun begins! Add some fussy cut leaves for extra detail. Attach the stamped birdhouse and the bird, using dimensionals to give the bird a 3D effect. Berry Burst cardstock frames the DSP on the front, giving the card a finished look.
Stamp “Hello Friend” in Mossy Meadow on Basic White cardstock. Banner cut the sentiment and add a sweet Crumb Cake double bow of Baker’s Twine. This little touch makes the card feel extra special.
I also created a coordinating envelope.
Measurements (in inches):
Card base in Mossy Meadow – 5-1/2 x 4-1/4 and mini card – 3 x 11, scored at 5-1/2
Basic White (for the Leaf Collection piece) – 5-1/4 x 4 and inside of card – 2-5/8 x 5-1/8. After stamped, cut 3/4 from each side. You use the rest for fussy cutting and even decorating the inside, if you want.
DSP – 2-5/8 x 5-1/8
Berry Burst (cut 2) – 2-3/4 x 5-1/4
sentiment Basic White – 3/4 x 2
scrap of Basic White for bird die cut
And there you have it—a fun fold card that’s sure to impress!
