Creating a Wildly Fun Birthday Card with Rhino Ready & Friends For Life DSP

I recently got into a creative groove and whipped up a birthday card that I just have to share with you all. This one was a blast to make and it turned out fabulously, if I do say so myself.

I started with a sturdy base of thick Basic White cardstock because we all know that a strong foundation is key, right? I then framed some of the vibrant Full of Life Designer Series Paper with Basic Black to really make those colors pop.

Next, I decided to add a splash of texture with a Berry Burst layer. But, of course, I couldn’t just leave it plain. So, I ran it through the Dotted Circles 3D Embossing Folder for that extra bit of pizzazz, and framed it with Basic Black as well. Layers upon layers of fun!

Now, for the star of the show: the adorable Rhino Ready stamp set. I stamped the cutest rhino with a yellow bird perched on its back in Memento Black Ink onto a piece of Basic White cardstock, framed again with Basic Black. The sentiment “Hope Your Birthday is Wild!” adds just the right touch of whimsy. Coloring in the rhino and bird with Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers was so relaxing, and I added a hint of Balmy Blue ink with a Blending Brush to create a lovely sky background.

I created another template for making this card and I just love how it turned out. I can see making lots of types of card with this template.

To finish off the front, I couldn’t resist adding a little sparkle with the Earth Tones Shimmer Gems. Because who doesn’t love a bit of bling? And I love a coordinating envelope, don’t you?

For the inside, I kept the design cohesive. I framed a layer of Basic White with Berry Burst and then framed that with Basic Black before adhering it to the inside of the card. It’s like a delightful little surprise when you open it up!

I had so much fun putting this card together, and I hope it brings a smile to the face of the lucky birthday recipient. If you’re inspired to try something similar, I say go for it! Let your creativity run wild and see where it takes you. I also made the card with green colors! Love it!!

I made sure the card had some fun stripes on it because I’m entering it into the Can You Handle the Pressure? Challenge where the challenge is all about embossing folders. You can use heat/wet embossing but you MUST use an embossing folder to enter their challenge and right now they have an OPTIONAL theme of STRIPES AND/or CHECKS.

Here’s the video showing you a step-by-step tutorial on how to create this sweet card. There are two cards being made in the video, and this card is the first one. Please give the video a thumbs up and subscribe to the channel while you’re there. Your support means so much to me.

Happy crafting, everyone!
