Doodle Delight: Three Easy Cards from One Sheet

Today’s post is about sharing something special with you: a trio of cards that started from one simple 6” x 6” piece of doodled cardstock! If you’ve been following along, you know I love creating personalized designs. This time, I decided to use a doodle to inspire a set of quick and easy cards—and I can’t wait to show you how I did it!

Inspiration

I’ve been working on my bi-monthly newsletter lately and so the colors used in the cards was inspired by the colors I am suggesting to my newsletter subscribers:

The Doodle Process

I began by taking a 6” x 6” piece of Basic White cardstock and let my creativity flow with a Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker. From there, I grabbed my Stampin’ Blends in Pool Party, Real Red, and Green to fill in the shapes of my doodle. Once I was happy with the colors, I went back in with the black marker to add some definition to the edges of each shape for extra pop.

To give the doodle a bit of texture and dimension, I stamped the Thoughtful Wishes stamp set’s plant and splatter stamps in Memento Tuxedo Black ink. The result was a fun, vibrant design full of movement!

Cutting & Creating Cards

After completing the doodle, I used a cutting template to divide the 6” x 6” piece into three smaller sections. These sections became the focal point for three unique cards. Each card came together so quickly, and the possibilities are endless—this is one of my favorite techniques for making multiple cards from a single design!

Video Tutorial

For those of you who love watching the process, I’ve recorded a step-by-step video showing exactly how I created the doodle and how I turned it into these three cards. You can watch the full video below:
