Today’s card is all about creativity and making the most of your supplies! This fun fold design is one where you can make two cards at once, and I love how it adds an extra element of surprise when opened. Everyone who has seen/received this style of card always loves how it opens and exclaims over it!

I started with an entire piece of Crushed Curry cardstock and scored it at 4-1/4″ on the 8-1/2″ side, then turned the cardstock and scored it again at 5-1/2″ on the 11″ side. The magic happens when you cut the cardstock diagonally from the top left to the bottom right, creating two matching card bases. After folding along the score lines, the result is a beautifully unique diagonal-opening card.

Using the Full of Life Designer Series Paper (DSP) for this card, it was cut it in the same diagonal direction so that the pieces fit perfectly on the card front. To add extra texture, dimension, and a bit of sparkle, Shimmery White Embossing Paste was applied onto the DSP, letting it dry before adhering it to the card base. The shimmer adds just the right amount of sparkle and fun!

The sentiment, “Hope Your Day is a Happy One,” from the So Sincere stamp set, was stamped in Blueberry Bushel on a piece of Basic White cardstock. I paired it with a foliage image from the Textured Notes stamp set—this was my first time using this set, and I love the detail it adds! The sentiment piece was layered with Crushed Curry and Blueberry Bushel cardstock for a bold and polished look. Using dimensionals, I adhered the sentiment panel to the center of the card front, being sure to position it so the card could still open easily.

Inside, I layered Basic White onto a panel of Blueberry Bushel and added a coordinating strip of DSP along the bottom. This simple detail ties everything together beautifully.
