Dry Embossing Glimmer Paper for Stunning Card Designs

Have you ever tried dry embossing Glimmer Paper? If not, you are in for a treat! It adds a dazzling dimension to your projects, and the results are nothing short of amazing. I recently experimented with dry embossing Granny Apple Green Glimmer Paper using the Plaster Painting 3D Embossing Folder, and I was blown away by the intricate details that emerged. This technique transformed the Glimmer Paper into a textured masterpiece, making it the star of my latest card creation.

The card base for this project is Basic Black, which provides a bold and elegant backdrop. To create visual contrast, I incorporated Mixed Media Florals Designer Series Paper at the top of the card front and Basic White cardstock on the bottom. On the Basic White section, I stamped a cheerful “Hello” from the Beautiful Butterflies stamp set using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. To seamlessly tie the two sections together, I added a strip of the dry embossed Granny Apple Green Glimmer Paper. The sparkle and texture of the embossed Glimmer Paper truly elevated the entire design, creating a harmonious balance between the elements.

For additional details, I punched a hexagon from Basic Black cardstock using the Heartfelt Hexagon Punch. This geometric element was adhered to the left side of the card front, serving as a striking base for the focal point. To build dimension, I layered it with a plant image from the Mixed Florals stamp set, stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and die-cut using the coordinating Mixed Florals dies. To add a pop of vibrant color, I punched a heart from Poppy Parade cardstock using the Bee Builder Punch, then dry embossed it with the Cute Crochet 3D Embossing Folder. This embossed heart was adhered at the top of the die-cut plant, adding a charming touch. Two gold Low Profile Dots were strategically placed nearby to enhance the sparkle and shine.

The inside of the card was designed to echo the beauty of the exterior. A panel of Basic White was framed with Granny Apple Green cardstock, creating a crisp and polished look. To tie everything together, a half-inch strip of the same Designer Series Paper featured on the card front was added along the left side of the inside panel, providing continuity and style.

This card is my entry for the Sketch-N-Scrap Online Challenge #281: Out with the Old and In with the New. The twist of incorporating something shiny or sparkly perfectly complements the embossed Glimmer Paper technique.
