Sometimes the most incredible things happen quickly. That’s how it is with today’s card I’m sharing in my YouTube Premiere. After all, I love a good fun fold/fancy fold as much as the next person. Sometimes you want something memorable to send to someone and don’t have much time… well, that’s when this fabulous card layout will do the trick perfectly.

I began with a card base of Balmy Blue in the usual size. The variations begin when the scoring and folding does. For this fun fold, if you can fold cardstock, you can make this card. You fold the base in half, and then fold the top half in half again. That’s it! With that simple accordion fold, you have your card base. Truly, it’s so quick and easy!

The most important thing to remember with this layout is to build the inside section first. I layered a Basic White panel on Misty Moonlight cardstock and added it to the inside of the card before constructing the front. That way the front flap covers everything perfectly. To finish the outside, I layered the same Misty Moonlight cardstock with a piece of Timeless Plaid DSP. Here’s a tip I always use: flip the front panel over, apply adhesive while it’s upside down, and then flip it back and attach. It makes it almost impossible to misplace the glue! The card front is decorated with a fun sentiment stamped from the Encircled with Love stamp set, some punched circles, while a fussy-cut heart adds a custom embellishment look, as well as a few sweet layered strips. Rhinestone Basic Jewels added the perfect amount of shimmer to complete this sweet card!

As usual, I couldn’t stop with just the one card using this layout and also decided to continue using the Timeless Plaid DSP since it comes in so many colors and patterns – I HAD to keep creating. I layered die cuts and the coordinating stamp set from Amber Autumn, along with Cajun Craze and Coral Calypso cardstocks for a beautiful fall card. I absolutely love how the plaid peeks through the front panel die cut for such a fun peek-a-boo! It mutes the DSP and yet highlights it, all at the same time! From the card front sentiment to the inside sentiment with stamped leaves, the element flower together beautifully. The card is so striking that the only embellishment needed was the fun metallic die cut leaf.

Next up was Christmas! Yes, I couldn’t resist! The card base of Cherry Cobbler adds the perfect cheery note, along with the clean lines of Basic White as an accent on this holiday beauty. The “Merry Christmas” ornament (from Traditional Labels stamp set, die cut with Stylish Shapes dies) and Gold-Striped Mesh Ribbon on the card front add plenty of dazzle, while the sweet inside sentiment from Words for the Season steals the show.

Finally, I turned to a birthday card using serene hues of Lost Lagoon and Pretty Peacock as an accent. The banner cut “Happy Birthday” sentiment on the front includes some jaunty stars all from the With You in Mind stamp set.
It’s truly amazing how something so simple can look so fancy! And I’m here for all of it! When you want to create a card that isn’t the usual card, you want to step it up a bit and send something amazing, and yet create it quickly, this is for you.
