Fun Fold Card to Use Up DSP

There’s something so satisfying about taking a piece of Designer Series Paper that’s been waiting patiently and turning it into a card that truly shows it off—and today’s fun fold does exactly that! I was inspired by a design from fellow Stampin’ Up! demonstrator Sharon Armstrong, and I couldn’t wait to give it a try with my own twist.

This card begins with a Basic White card base with a really unique structure with mountain folds on the outer sections and valley folds that bring everything neatly together over the center. It folds flat but opens up in such a fun and unexpected way—one of those designs that makes people pause and take a second look!

Once folded, the entire card base is centered onto a Granny Apple Green panel. Another panel of Granny Apple Green in the same size is adhered to the top left folded flap, creating a bold and cohesive base for the patterned paper.

For the star of the show, I used the Florals in Bloom Designer Series Paper. A full panel is layered over that top flap, instantly bringing in color and personality. When the card opens, a coordinating DSP panel fills the larger inside section, while two smaller strips are added to the folded sections on the right. This is such a great way to mix patterns and make the most of your paper stash!

A Basic White panel is layered on top of the inside DSP to create a clean space for the message. I added a sweet stamped detail in the lower right corner using the smaller flower from the Paradise Garden stamp set in Berry Burst ink—just enough to tie everything together without overwhelming the writing space.

For the front, I die cut a sentiment banner from Basic White and stamped it with “You Make the World a Better Place” in Berry Burst and popped up for a bit of depth on the card front. The coordinating floral images were stamped and die cut, with the flower in Berry Burst and the foliage in Granny Apple Green. The arrangement of these elements adds such a pretty balance across the banner.

To finish it off, I added five Rhinestone Basic Jewels for sparkle. Those little details really bring the whole card to life!

This design is quick, satisfying, and a fantastic way to use up some of that gorgeous DSP you’ve been saving. It’s one of those folds that looks impressive but comes together easily—my favorite kind!

I’m entering this fun card in the Beautiful Blossoms #39 Challenge and the Classic Design #03/2026 Mar/Apr 2026 Challenge where it’s all about fun/fancy folds.

I’d love to know—are you someone who uses your Designer Series Paper right away, or do you tend to save it because it’s just too pretty to cut into?
