Classy and Perfect for Any Occasion
Today’s project is one of those designs that feels elegant, thoughtful, and a little extra special, yet comes together so quickly that you’ll want to make an entire stack of them. This fun fold gift card holder works for absolutely any occasion, any season, and any personality. Whether you’re giving a gift card, a little cash, or a handwritten note, this fold makes the presentation every bit as meaningful as the gift itself.

I started my featured card with a Mossy Meadow base and layered on that beautiful Painterly Pears Designer Series Paper in the Mossy Meadow grid pattern. The soft texture and subtle tone made the perfect backdrop for the fun fold element. The fold itself was created from a coordinating Mossy Meadow panel, and once that was adhered, the decorating began. A Petal Pink banner panel stamped with the splatter image in Calypso Coral added a playful bit of texture. Layering it onto a coordinating piece of DSP gave it such a polished, intentional look.

The pears were truly the stars of the show. I die cut two pears directly from the DSP, along with stems, leaves, Petal Pink florals, a couple of Basic White hashmark elements, and a simple sentiment strip for the “Thank You.” Building the layered art piece was so satisfying. The hashmark shapes added a modern touch, the Petal Pink florals softened everything beautifully, and the pears—popped up with dimensionals—created that perfect focal point right in the center. A trio of Mossy Meadow Sparkle Dots finished the front with a bit of shimmer.

One of my favorite things about this fold is the gift card holder inside. The left panel of the fun fold has a DSP pocket created with the 2″ circle punch to notch out the top. Tear & Tape along the edges allowed the gift card to slip perfectly into place, and here’s a little tip: adhere the pocket while the gift card is inside to ensure the perfect “grab-and-slide” fit. On the right side, a Basic White panel decorated with a couple of small pears adds a sweet spot for writing a message.

This card feels incredibly intentional, and I know the recipient will treasure both the presentation and the thought behind it. And of course, I didn’t stop with just one version. Once you make this fun fold, you’ll want to try it with every color and theme imaginable.

The first alternate version I created features Berry Burst with the Celebratory Sips Designer Series Paper. It has a totally different personality—cheerful, festive, and delightfully quick to assemble. A Stylish Shapes circle stamped with “Let’s Celebrate” sets the tone on the front, and two little fancy drinks from the DSP bring it all together.

I stamped “Cheers” inside on the Basic White panel, and honestly, this one practically made itself. Swap out the paper and sentiment and this fold becomes perfect for birthdays, parties, girls’ nights, retirements, or anything worth raising a glass to.

My next version highlights the Words of Beauty stamp set, the coordinating dies, and the Petals of Beauty dies. This one might be the most elegant of all, with Calypso Coral and Petal Pink bringing such warmth. Instead of DSP, I embossed Very Vanilla cardstock using the Beautiful Pattern Embossing Folder, and even the gift card pocket inside is embossed for extra texture. Layered leaves in Very Vanilla and Vellum, floral outlines in Calypso Coral, and the sentiment “Just Because” in Very Vanilla with a Petal Pink outline transformed this version into a soft, romantic, absolutely stunning card. Basic Beige Pearls of Beauty were the perfect finishing touch.

Inside, the “I Appreciate You” sentiment ties everything together with quiet sweetness.

And yes… I had to make a Christmas version! This one uses Pool Party and Real Red, with a charming mix of patterns from the North Pole Delivery Designer Series Paper. Presents, paw prints, letters, little critters, and a North Pole sign—this version is pure joy. The sentiment on the front, “Special Delivery,” captures the spirit perfectly. Three Real Red & White Adhesive-Backed Peppermints add just the right bit of holiday sparkle.

Inside, the sentiment “Merry Christmas and Happy Wishes” finishes the card beautifully. This one makes me smile every time I look at it.

Each version has its own personality. Each tells its own story. And each one shows how surprisingly versatile this fun fold truly is. From elegant to playful to festive, this design rises to every occasion. I am thrilled with how all four turned out.
