– A Cut It Up Challenge
It’s time for another Cut It Up! challenge and this one is all about green—one of my absolute favorite colors to work with because it feels fresh, calming, and perfect for so many occasions. For this two-week challenge, green needed to take center stage, and I had so much fun pulling together a mix of rich tones and beautiful textures to bring this card to life.

I started with an Old Olive card base, which set the tone for the entire project. From there, I reached for the Moonlit Flora Designer Series Paper, choosing two coordinating patterns that added just the right amount of interest without overwhelming the design. Layering those onto a Secret Sea panel gave the card a strong, elegant foundation while still letting the green shine as the star.

For the focal point, I stamped the delicate lines image from the Fern & Flora stamp set in Old Olive onto Basic White cardstock. There’s something so satisfying about tone-on-tone stamping—it adds texture in such a subtle and beautiful way. I matted that piece with Secret Sea and popped it up with dimensionals to give the card a little lift and presence.

Then came my favorite part—those gorgeous die-cut ferns. I used both Garden Green and Old Olive cardstock to create depth and variation, tucking them in to create a soft, organic arrangement. The layered greens really bring that springtime feel to the card, which ties in perfectly with one of the other challenges I’m entering.

To add a bit of contrast and a pop of color, I stamped the butterfly in Secret Sea ink onto a Berry Burst die cut. That little detail adds just enough brightness to catch your eye without taking away from the green theme. The sentiment, stamped in Secret Sea on Crushed Curry cardstock, brings in a warm, cheerful touch and balances everything beautifully.

Of course, I couldn’t resist a little embellishment, so I added three Old Olive Dewdrops alongside the focal point. Not only do they add sparkle and texture, but they also tie in perfectly with the Path of Positivity challenge twist to include three gems.

I carried the design through to the inside of the card with a layered panel of Basic White and Secret Sea, finishing it off with a coordinating strip along the side. I always love when the inside feels just as special as the front—it’s such a thoughtful finishing touch.

This card is also being entered into several fun challenges, including Try It on Tuesday with a spring theme, Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #673 for the layout inspiration, Path of Positivity #139 with that optional Crafting By the Numbers element where you add 3 gems to the project, and Love Those Pretty Papers where patterned paper takes the spotlight. I always enjoy combining challenges because it stretches my creativity in the best way.

Now it’s your turn to join in the fun! I would absolutely love to see what you create for the Cut It Up! #352 challenge. Remember, as long as your project includes a die cut and features green as the main color, you’re good to go. Whether you go bold and bright or soft and subtle, this is a wonderful opportunity to play, experiment, and share your creativity with an amazing community of crafters.
I hope this card inspires you to reach for your greens and create something beautiful today. 💚
