Homemade Sweetness

with Paper Party Live

Today’s Paper Party Live is full of sweet details, cheerful colors, and some really fun ways to use your supplies in creative and flexible ways. There will be two cards created together during the live, and an amazing bonus card that’s included in the tutorial so you can enjoy making it on your own time.

The first card is one of those layouts that you can easily recreate with whatever you have in your stash, which makes it a great go-to design. I began mine with a Soft Sea Foam base, creating a soft and calming foundation for all the layers that follow with a dry embossed panel to really bring the card to life.

Then for the focal point, a piece of the Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the Homemade Sweetness pack is layered onto Secret Sea cardstock and popped it up with Dimensionals. That little bit of lift makes such a difference. The sentiment, “You’re the Sweetest,” was stamped in Secret Sea onto a die cut from the Filled With Sweetness dies, and a strip of coordinating DSP was tucked behind it for an extra pop of interest. A few Secret Sea dots from the Strawberries & Dots pack finished everything off and tied the whole design together.

The second card is playful and just makes me smile. It begins with a Strawberry Slush card base, which sets the tone for a bright and cheerful design. The jar was die cut from the Homemade Sweetness DSP, and here’s the fun part… I cut that die cut in half so I could get two jars instead of one. I love finding little ways to stretch my supplies like that. I stamped the jar image in Strawberry Slush ink and added a gingham lid along with the sweet little string and bow detail.

The sentiment was stamped in Secret Sea onto a scalloped die cut, adding a tiny heart stamped in Strawberry Slush underneath for a subtle detail that really makes it feel special. The whole piece is popped up with Dimensionals and has a couple of small die cut flowers with Strawberry Slush centers added for just the right finishing touch. On the inside, there’s a Basic White panel with a strip of coordinating DSP along the bottom, which gives it that polished, finished look when the card is opened.

The bonus card is such a fun one and truly all about sharing a heartfelt thank you. It starts with a Calypso Coral card base and features a simple three-panel layout that really lets the elements shine. Two of the panels highlight the beautiful patterns from the Homemade Sweetness DSP, while the third panel is embossed for added texture and interest. This layout is included as a template in the tutorial, and it’s one you’ll find yourself reaching for again and again.

The tutorial for today’s projects includes all three cards, including the bonus design. It is free for my team members and for my customers who placed a qualifying order in February as a thank you for your support. If you didn’t qualify this time, no worries at all. The tutorial is available for a very affordable price in my online store, and every purchase helps support my ability to continue creating and sharing fun tutorials like this with you.

I hope these cards inspire you to pull out your supplies and create something sweet today. Whether you craft along with the replay or save it for later, I’m so grateful you’re here. If you create one of these cards, I would absolutely love to see it, so be sure to share it and tag me.
