Inspired by “A Dog’s Purpose” – My Return to Scrapbooking

I am beyond thrilled to share my latest project—my first scrapbook page in seven years! It feels incredible to dive back into scrapbooking, a craft that brings so much joy and allows cherished memories to be preserved creatively.

For this page, I used some recently printed photos featuring our lovable pup. The base of my layout is Crumb Cake cardstock that was then layered with Country Woods Designer Series Paper (DSP), which I centered perfectly to create a balanced and visually appealing background.

To add some dimension and interest, I die-cut a variety of circles using the Spotlight on Nature Dies in Misty Moonlight and Smoky Slate, as well as stamped the Doggone Friendly image in Misty Moonlight on Basic White and cut with the same Dies. These circles added a fun and whimsical touch, complementing the overall theme of my page.

I framed my photos with Smoky Slate cardstock to make them stand out and give the layout a cohesive look. For the finishing touches, I adorned the page with Smoky Slate pearls, adding a subtle touch, and completed it with some heartfelt journaling.

Measurements (in inches)

Base – Crumb Cake 12 x 12 (from my paper stash)

1st Layer – Country Woods DSP 11 x 11

Scrap of Basic White for stamped image, die cut

This page is particularly special because it is inspired by the book “A Dog’s Purpose: A Novel for Humans” by W. Bruce Cameron. The book’s heartwarming story about the bond between humans and their canine companions resonated deeply with me and inspired me to create a layout that celebrates the love and joy our furry friends bring into our lives.

I’m also excited to announce that I’ll be entering this page into the Lasting Memories Scrapbook Challenge. The theme for this challenge is “Inspired by a Book,” and I couldn’t think of a more fitting inspiration than “A Dog’s Purpose.” This is for challenge #701.

I hope this scrapbook page brings a smile to your face and inspires you to create something beautiful today. Thank you for joining me on this creative journey. Happy scrapbooking!
