Mastering Stampin’ Blends: Essential Tips for Perfect Coloring

Welcome to the world of Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers, where creativity meets vibrant, seamless coloring.

These markers are fantastic for adding depth and dimension to your projects, and today, I’m covering some essential tips to help you get the most out of them.

Proper storage is crucial for maintaining your markers; store them horizontally to ensure the ink distributes evenly within the markers, and always cap them tightly after use to keep them from drying out. Additionally, since they come in packs of two, I keep the two together with a small hair tie. That way, I always know where the set is since I simply store my Stampin’ Blends horizontally in a drawer!

To prevent the ink from bleeding through your paper, use a high-quality, thick cardstock like Whisper White or Basic White. Placing a piece of scrap paper under your project can also absorb any excess ink, ensuring your workspace stays clean.

When using Stampin’ Blends, it’s best to start with the lightest shade and gradually add darker shades. This technique allows you to create smooth transitions and avoid harsh lines, making your coloring look more professional. Don’t be afraid to experiment with layering different colors together. Stampin’ Blends are designed to blend seamlessly, so combining various shades can result in unique and beautiful effects.

For a smooth, streak-free finish, try using small, circular motions when applying color. This technique helps blend the colors evenly, especially over larger areas.

I’m entering this card into the CAS on Friday – Embossing Challenge #285, Simply Clean & Simple June 2024, and the Can You Handle the Pressure Challenges.

Applying ink with a light hand is another effective strategy. You can always add more layers to deepen the color, but it’s much harder to remove excess ink once it’s on the paper. For intricate images, consider outlining the area with the lightest shade first. This helps to keep the ink within the lines and makes blending easier.

Finally, remember that mastering the use of Stampin’ Blends takes practice and patience. Don’t rush the process; take your time to layer colors and experiment with different techniques. Practice on scrap paper before working on your final project to ensure you get the best results.

I’m so excited because I made these cards with my very first card Sketch that I’ve ever created!
