Quick, Easy & Versatile Layout – Full of Color and Fun

Today’s card is brimming with fall fun and color — the kind that makes you want to pull on a cozy sweater and grab a cup of cider. I used Mossy Meadow, Pumpkin Pie, and Cherry Cobbler inks, and wow, do they ever play beautifully together!

Our amazing team leader, Jackie Bolhuis (Klompen Stampers), challenged us all in our team Facebook group to use one of the sketches from our team website. I love using sketches for inspiration — they take the guesswork out of design and get those creative juices flowing! Whether it’s a team challenge or an online cardmaking sketch, I always find them to be a great spark for ideas. And that’s one of the beauties of being a part of this team, you get lots of templates and layouts you can use and share with your customers – I love that, and I’m so grateful for all the inspiration!

For this card layout, I reached for the Gathering Moments stamp set and its coordinating dies. I stamped the leaves and other elements in all three ink colors on a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock, leaving one side blank for contrast. The sentiment, “Expressing heartfelt gratitude,” was stamped in Mossy Meadow on a scrap of Very Vanilla, then die cut with the large maple leaf from the Gathering Moments Dies.

To add even more warmth, I used Blending Brushes with Pumpkin Pie and Cherry Cobbler inks to softly accent the edges of the die-cut leaf. That little touch makes the leaf glow — just like the fall trees here in Ohio!

The stamped panel was layered on a piece of Mossy Meadow Designer Series Paper from the Splendid Autumn DSP and then adhered to a Crumb Cake card base. I popped the die-cut leaf on with dimensionals right over the unstamped section of the art piece, creating balance and texture. A few Mossy Meadow Muted Palette Dots finished it all off beautifully — I used five, applied easily with my Take Your Pick Tool.

Inside, I kept the design simple but coordinated. A Very Vanilla panel was stamped in all three colors in the lower right-hand corner and layered over the Mossy Meadow DSP. It ties the whole card together and gives that perfect polished finish.

I’m entering this card in the Color Throwdown #842 Challenge where the colors are Green, Red & Orange:

Of course, I shared variations with different papers, inks, and stamp sets using this layout:
