Great card and tutorial Julia, will be giving this a go!
Thanks, Jane. I'd love to see what you come up with – you're so talented.
…..THUD!! that's my breath-taken away, jaw-dropped response to your card that is outstanding, awe-inspiring gorgeous! I'm obsessed with butterflies and yours here…oh my, oh my, oh my!! Swoon inducing of epic proportions! I've just recently dabbled with sponging, so the timing of your technique is perfect! Thank you for the tutorial! And yes, this card appearing in a mail box would guarantee a mega watt smile! My favourite thing about stamping is, like yours, trying new techniques, and especially, seeing what others do and learning from them!! This hop/contest is so much fun…Off I go. Happy Sunday!!

Love your comment! So glad you enjoy techniques, too! Glad you're enjoying the Hop.
Fabulous technique Julia! I just love heat embossing! I just love sponging too! You have demonstrated what a perfect marriage they make! I can see me trying that technique a lot. One thing I love about stamping is the versatility of a single stamp set. I love seeing images transformed across different cards by different people using different techniques. People's creativity is a magical thing!
Great comment! So glad you like the technique. It's great on designer paper, too! Isn't just amazing how people can come up with so many different card idea
Oh boy, Julia, what a lovely card!!! Stunning butterfly and so beautifully done with the embossing and sponging!! Thank you so much for taking the time to show us how you have done this!!
Something I think is fun about stamping …all I can say (ask) is: is there anything that is NOT fun about stamping??? I am not artistic at all and can not even draw a proper stick man, so the greatest fun for me is to lift up the stamp and to think : WOW did I really do that – a perfect image and I don't need to be able to draw or paint to make a beautiful card!!! That is the greatest fun for me!!!
Have a super Sunday!!
Greetings from Africa!!
LOL! Love your comment about what is best about stamping. I agree – I don't think of myself as an artist, either and enjoy the fact that I can just stamp an image. Yay!
Julia, your big butterfly stamped and heat embossed and sponged with an earthy tone is stunning!
Thanks, Angela. Your card set is just beautiful. Thank you for sharing.
Hauntingly beautiful! Absolutely stunning! I was wondering how you accomplished it- WOW! You're a treasure and secret weapon for AAA cards!! Thank you so much for your skill and talent and getting this hop off to a good start. Big hugs
Victoria, you're the best for organizing all this fun! Thank you.
How cool. Thanks for the beautiful card
I admit I'm an adult who never truly grew up. I love coloring and that's always been my favorite part of stamping. Whether I use rubber stamps or digi stamps, my primary thought when selecting it is, "How will it color up?" I love the resist technique you showed us and need to dig out supplies to do some of it again. It's something I've not done in so long but have enjoyed it every time I done it. Thanks for the reminder, Julie!
Oh, I agree! Coloring is soooo much fun!
Absolutely stunning!! I love that bfly anyway – but highlighted with the embossing and light color — WOW!
What an absolutely lovely effect! I like so many things about stamping: that it's always evolving, but the older tried and true techniques are still viable and effective; that it's a relaxing, creative outlet; that I can make something someone else will cherish; that it satisfies my need to be creative…. I have had to curb my spending because of the plethora of new stamps that come out on a daily basis, but can always find something in my huge stash that will work. I don't know about anyone else, but I'm still overjoyed with wonder every time I heat emboss something. It's like magic.
Stamping is always evolving, Lucy. I hadn't thought about it like that, but it is! Great insight. I truly know what you mean about curbing the spending – LOL! Thanks so much for your comment.
Stunning image. That butterfly's so detailed. Love the way you have enhanced the image. Great tutorial to go with it. x
Thank you!
Gorgeous inking, that butterfly looks awesome 🙂
Thanks, Deepti!
For starters this XL stamp is an all time favorite, and the technique you used is one of my favorites for one layer cards, love it! What I love about stamping is precisely the fact that you can do so much with the same basic elements ink and stamps, and vary from one technique to another creating totally different styles while you do it.
Thanks so much for sharing.

You're right, Cornelia. It is fun to turn a thought into reality and that's what we do every time we create a new card or stamped piece.
Stunning- thank you for sharing. I love stamping because there is so much fun things you can do with stamps–Myrna
Myrna – the possibilities are practically endless, aren't they?

LOL! You are so quick and creative.
What an amazing card you made!! I can't wait to do it too! It is one of my favourite techniques and that is also part of my answer. Fun of stamping is that there are SO many cool stamping techniques to do that you just can't do with digital images.
xxx
Riette
I agree, Riette. Digital is great, but I run into a lot of – I can't do this, I can't do that with my digital images. Stamping is fun to have it in your hand, turn it around, and stuff like that. Good answer!
Wow! I have never seen this kind of technique before but the outcome looks terrific! I think I will try this myself (which is also the most fun thing about stamping …trying new things and getting your fingers messy 😉
Hugs,
Eemeli
LOL! Eemeli, you're so, so right! There's nothing that says you've had a good time like inky fingers!!!
Absolutely LOVE this card! So pretty! I love stamping and making cards because of the smile they put on recipients faces!
This card is so simply beautiful!! and what I love about stamping is how you can take one or two images – and a message and creative soooooo many different cards using different colors and techniques with only a couple of images!! I feel so creative when I stamp and love it when I look at a stamp and see its' endless possibilities!!
