Today, I’m excited to share a stunning card I created using the Sparkling Snowflakes stamp set. This design is my entry for The Paper Players Sketch Challenge #717 and is bursting with frosty charm and layers of beautiful color.
I started this card with a fun masking technique on the Basic White art piece. Here’s how it all came together:
- Masking & Background Blending:
Large Post-It Notes were adhered diagonally across the art piece. Using Blending Brushes, I layered Balmy Blue and Blueberry Bushel inks to create a dreamy gradient. - Stamping the Snowflakes:
Snowflakes were stamped in Blueberry Bushel, then layered with their outline stamps in Balmy Blue, adding depth and texture. - Sentiment:
The sentiment, “Make the Season Sparkle,” was stamped in Blueberry Bushel on a Basic White sentiment piece for a crisp, wintery touch. - Layers & Assembly:
The card base is Thick Basic White cardstock, layered with Blueberry Bushel and Balmy Blue cardstock. The art piece and sentiment were layered similarly, with the sentiment popped up on Stampin’ Dimensionals for added interest. - Inside Design:
The inside of the card echoes the front, featuring small stamped snowflakes and the same layered color scheme. - Final Touch:
For a bit of sparkle, I added five Adhesive-Backed Sparkled Gems in the clear/white variety.
Why I Love This Design
This card sparkles with elegance while remaining simple to create. The colors and layout feel so festive, perfect for the season!
