Sweet Fun Fold Card

That’s Twice the Fun

There’s something so delightful about a card that has a little surprise tucked inside, and this one absolutely delivers. From the moment I started playing with this fold, I knew it was going to be one I’d come back to again and again. It’s simple in structure, but once it’s layered up with beautiful papers and textures, it feels extra special—like a little gift in card form.

I began with a Cloud Cover base in a classic portrait orientation, which gives this design a clean and soft foundation. Pairing that with an Early Espresso fun fold adds just the right amount of contrast and warmth, creating a cozy backdrop for all the fun details that follow. The Designer Series Paper from the 2025–2027 In Color collection really steals the show here. I used both the speckled and striped patterns, and together they bring just enough visual interest without overwhelming the design.

The magic of this card is in that sweet little mini card that sits right on the front. It opens up to reveal space for a message, making the whole design interactive with the additional outside fun fold and just a little unexpected. I added a Basic White panel inside with a soft, stamped-off splatter using the Gears & Textures stamp set in Crumb Cake, which keeps everything cohesive while still allowing room to write.

For the focal point, I had so much fun building up layers using die-cut gears, chains, and textured elements. Mixing Bubble Bath, Early Espresso, and Crumb Cake cardstock adds dimension while keeping the color palette soft and balanced. The layered textures from the stamping underneath peek through just enough to give that perfectly imperfect, artistic feel.

The sentiment comes from the Sunshine Vibes stamp set, and I love how a simple “Hello” fits just about any occasion. Before adding the sentiment, I flicked on a few splatters using a dark Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blend, which adds that extra bit of organic texture and ties beautifully into the rest of the layered look. I stamped the sentiment onto a banner from the Stylish Shapes dies and added a folded piece of Cloud Cover Faux Linen Ribbon behind it for a soft, finished look. The ribbon tails trimmed to points give it just a touch of movement and polish.

Of course, I couldn’t stop there—because you know I love a little sparkle. The Moody Palette Glossy Dots in Cloud Cover add subtle shine, while a couple of silver Adhesive-Backed Metallic Gems bring in just enough shimmer to catch the light. To soften everything and tie the colors together, I tucked in a few floral pieces from the Fully Flowering Ephemera Pack in Bubble Bath with Crumb Cake accents. They frame the sentiment beautifully and add that final touch of unexpected charm.

I’m also excited to be entering this card into a couple of fun challenges! I’m playing along with Just Add Ink #783 for the color inspiration and Sunday Stamps #383 for the layout. It’s always such a joy to see how a design can be inspired by these creative prompts, and I love stretching my supplies in new ways because of them.

What I love most about this card is how adaptable it is. You can switch out the papers, change the colors, or swap the sentiment, and it becomes something entirely new every time. It’s one of those designs that looks like you spent a lot of time on it—but it comes together in such a fun and satisfying way.

I’ve created a short video showing this card in action over on Facebook as a reel and on YouTube as a short, so you can see how it all comes together. And if you’d like to recreate it, I’ve also put together a free PDF tutorial.

I’m absolutely thrilled with how this one turned out, and I hope it inspires you to pull out your favorite papers and give this sweet little fun fold a try. If you do, I would love to see what you create!
