Today I had an absolute blast in my craft room working on a card layout that I believe might just be the most versatile fun fold design I’ve ever created! I’m so excited to share it with you—and I even made a video to walk you through it, including three other card versions using the same layout to showcase just how flexible it is.
The base of the card starts with Basic Beige cardstock at the standard size, but it’s scored just a little differently to create a fun fold. Inside the card, I added a panel of Basic White for writing space, framed perfectly with a Misty Moonlight panel to make it pop.
The front of the card is where the fun really begins! Each flap of the card base is decorated with a panel of Country Woods Designer Series Paper, matted onto Misty Moonlight cardstock, and then adhered to the flaps. For the main art piece, I brushed a bit of Misty Moonlight ink into the center of a Basic White panel to create a soft background and add texture. Then, using Gray Granite ink, I stamped the cookie jar and its lid from the Sweet Jar stamp set (coming soon in the new annual catalog—165501) on a scrap of Basic White. I filled the jar with cookies stamped in Crumb Cake ink and added chocolate chips in Early Espresso. After a quick fussy cut, the cookie jar and lid were adhered to the ink-brushed panel.
To add a bit more charm, I stamped a few Pool Party hearts around the cookie jar and finished it off with the sentiment “Sending a Little Sweetness Your Way.” I used Misty Moonlight for most of the sentiment and Early Espresso just for the word “sweetness” to give it a nice visual contrast. The art piece was matted onto Misty Moonlight, layered again onto Basic Beige, and then adhered to just the left side flap of the card with Tear & Tape for a secure hold.
Now let’s talk about the versatility—because this layout can be dressed up in so many ways! I created three additional cards using this same layout, and each one has its own unique style and mood.
One version is bright and cheerful, perfect for lifting someone’s spirits. I used the Full of Life Designer Series Paper with a Granny Apple Green card base and accents of Daffodil Delight. The sentiment, “Hope Your Day is a Happy One,” from the So Sincere stamp set, fits perfectly and makes it a welcoming card that would bring joy to anyone’s day.
Another take on this layout goes a bit more bold and elegant. I used a Basic Black card base and added accents of Calypso Coral, pairing them with the stunning Mixed Media Floral DSP. This paper really steals the show, so I let it do the heavy lifting and only added the sentiment “Just a Note to Let You Know You’re On My Mind” from the Mixed Labels stamp set, stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink. It’s a beautiful, heartfelt card that would work for so many occasions.
Finally, I created a rich and textured version using the Woven Textures DSP and Textured Notes stamp set. The Pretty Peacock base combined with Lost Lagoon accents makes this card feel earthy and thoughtful. The sentiment, “A Little Note of Appreciation,” really shines on this one, making it perfect for sending gratitude.

- Card Base (Basic Beige) – 5-1/2 x 8-1/2, scored and folded at 1-1/2, turn the cardstock 180° and score at 2-3/4
- 1st layer on card base flaps (Misty Moonlight) – 2-1/2 x 5-1/4 and 1-1/4 x 5-1/4
- 2nd layer on card base flaps (DSP) – 2-3/8 x 5-1/8 and 1-1/8 x 5-1/8
- Art piece (Basic White) – 3-1/4 x 4-1/2
- 1st mat under Art piece (Misty Moonlight) – 3-3/8 x 4-5/8
- 2nd mat under Art piece (Basic Beige) – 3-1/2 x 4-3/4
- Full of Life card had one more mat under the Art piece that is Basic White and measures 3-5/8 x 4-7/8 – none of the other cards had this extra layer – this layer was due to the ribbon wrapped around the art piece
- Inside card – Basic White 3-3/4 x 5, coordinating cardstock (Misty Moonlight) – 4 x 5-1/4
- scrap of Basic White for stamping/punching/cutting out and adhering elements to Art piece
