A Fabulous Card Layout with Sneaky Magic!

Tonight’s Paper Party Live was such a blast and a very different experience since my computer decided to stop showing me what was going on during the Live—thank you to everyone who joined me and was patient with me! We created a beautiful card using the Nests of Winter Designer Series Paper, and I showed off a layout that’s as versatile as it is stunning.

Our featured card started with a Pool Party card base and layered on the woodgrain pattern from Nests of Winter for the background. The silver panel secretly had a 2″ circle punched right out of the center—and then we layered the geometric Pool Party DSP right on top. No one will ever know that circle is missing… unless they read this post. It’s our little silver secret!

Those two pieces were mounted onto a coordinating Pool Party panel, then popped up with dimensionals on the card front for extra depth and polish. I tucked the punched silver circle back in on the bottom left corner of the layout, creating a perfect little base for our sentiment and floral element.

I stamped the large flower from the Mixed Florals set and a “Hello” greeting from Wonderful Thoughts onto scrap Basic White, die cut them with the coordinating dies using the Cut & Emboss Machine, and brought them to life with Stampin’ Blends in Granny Apple Green, Lost Lagoon, Darling Duckling, and Pool Party. The flowers overlap slightly onto the silver circle, and the greeting tucks perfectly alongside them. It’s such a sweet little combo.

Inside the card, I layered Basic White with a pop of Coastal Cabana and finished it off with a strip of coordinating DSP for a tidy little surprise when you open it up.

And of course, this layout isn’t a one-hit wonder! I shared a couple of variations using new and upcoming products:

One featured Balmy Blue, Basic White, and Basic Black with the soon-to-be released Lights of Aurora DSP. I added some sparkle with the Frosted Iridescent Dots, a die cut from Beautiful Motifs, and a sentiment from the Greetings For All Mix & Match Ephemera.

Another version was done in Secret Sea, Cloud Cover, and Basic White, using the new 2025–2027 In Color DSP. I stamped the greeting from Encircled With Love in Secret Sea ink, punched it with the 1-3/4″ and 2″ circle punches, and added the perfect finishing touch with the 2025–2027 In Color Flat Pearls. PSA for my fellow color lovers: the In Colors are currently 15% off—so this is the perfect time to stock up and play with all these fantastic combos!

Want to make this card too? I’ve got you covered! The full layout, all measurements, supply list, and photos are available in a free downloadable PDF on my blog. You can also catch the replay of tonight’s live and create right along with me.
