Fun Layout = Fabulous Cards!

For the latest Paper Party Live, we crafted some beautiful cards using a fabulous layout that you can easily recreate at home. Whether you’re new to stamping or a seasoned crafter, you’ll enjoy this one!

The card I created Live has a gorgeous Fresh Freesia card base, which is such a soft, calming color. On top of that, there’s a bold panel of Basic Black that contrasts beautifully with the Floral Impressions DSP it mats. I used the Pressed Flowers Embossing Folder on Basic White to create some texture, then mounted it onto Basic Black and adhered it to the card front with dimensionals for a little lift.

The sentiment was stamped it in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and given a fun twist by cutting the edges at an angle—just a little something extra to keep things interesting! I then adhered the sentiment toward the bottom of the card with dimensionals to give it some shadow and interest. To finish off the card, some gorgeous Strawberry Slush and Pretty in Pink Gems were added around the sentiment for a pop of sparkle.

For another fun example of this layout, I created a version for the As You See It Challenge #353, using a black, white, and gold color scheme with lots of glimmer. I switched things up by using Basic Black for the card base and Regals Distressed DSP, with Seasons of Elegance DSP instead of a layer of embossing for an extra touch of elegance. This card also features die-cut foliage from the Gallery Blooms dies, Gold-Striped Mesh Ribbon, and Brushed Gold Foil DSP. Some of the foil was scrap from the Black Ice technique, adding a unique black ink smudge that creates a cool effect. The sentiment “Congratulations” from More Messages is embossed with Basics Wow! Embossing Powder in Black, with a final touch of Basic Rhinestone Jewels and Gold Sequins for added sparkle.

I’m also adding this card to the Just Add Ink #762 challenge because the inspiration photo is amazing with the plaid (one of my DSPs is a plaid) with lots of gorgeous foliage and black accents.

And, of course, I have a third variation of this layout, which is super fun with the bright Azure Afternoon card base. I used the Woven Textures DSP for the card front and also punched a piece of it with the 2” circle punch for a fun accent around the adorable monkey from the Silly Safari stamp set which was the perfect companion for this card, along with a fun “Happy Birthday, You Party Animal!” sentiment. To give the card some texture, I used the Glass embossing folder from the Glass & Gardens Embossing Folders, while Early Espresso cardstock and ink completed the look.

As always, the replay is available to watch on YouTube below, and using the downloadable PDF as well, you can easily recreate this layout at home. Let’s create some amazing projects together!
