Update – April 30, 2025: Today, I discovered that this card was chosen as a favorite and is allowing me to be a Featured Stamper on Color Throwdown!!

How incredibly cool is that? I had to email the Design Team and let them know that I am looking forward to being a Featured Stamper!! WooHoo! What an honor!
Today’s card features one of my absolute favorite techniques—blending! There’s just something magical about soft layers of color coming together to create a delicate design, and that’s exactly what happened with this beauty.

To begin, I reached for the new Thankful Garden stamp set. The hydrangea image was stamped in Pecan Pie ink, giving it a softer outline that pairs beautifully with the color palette. Using the coordinating Thankful Garden Decorative Masks, I brought the image to life with Blending Brushes. I softly layered Daffodil Delight, Crushed Curry, and Calypso Coral over the flower, and used both a lighter and darker touch of Lost Lagoon for the leaves. The effect is dreamy and gentle—just the kind of look I love.

The sentiment “Thankful for you friend,” also from the Thankful Garden set, was stamped in Pecan Pie onto a scrap of Basic White. I die-cut the hydrangea using the Thankful Garden dies, and the sentiment was cut with a label die from the Textured Notes set.

For the background, I added texture with the brand-new Glass Embossing Folder (part of the upcoming Glass & Gardens duo -165597 ). I ran a panel of Basic White through my embossing machine and adhered it to a Thick Basic White card base. The hydrangea and sentiment were added with dimensionals to create just a hint of shadowing and lift. A Crumb Cake twine double bow from the Baker’s Twine Essentials Pack adds a charming touch to the stem. To finish it all off, I added three Neutrals Adhesive-Backed Sequins in a soft brown for just the right sparkle.

Inside the card, I layered a panel of Basic White onto a cheerful mat of Daffodil Delight to tie everything together with a bright, happy feel.

I’m also entering this card into a few wonderful challenges this week:
— Tic Tac Toe Challenge #268 with my row of stencil, any color, and flower

— Color Throwdown Challenge #831 for the dreamy combo of sage green, yellow, and coral

— CAS on Friday Challenge #307 for the “Use a Stencil” theme
— Can You Handle The Pressure Challenge where an embossing folder is required

- A – Card Base = 4-¼ x 11, scored and folded at 5-½

If you’d like to see this card come together step-by-step, be sure to check out the video I created. You’ll see just how easy it is to build layers of soft color and texture using blending brushes and masks/stencils—you’ll fall in love with this technique, too!
